Who we are
Vashi Impact Group (VIG) is a registered international research and evaluation firm with a dedicated institute, VIG Institute, specialising in development and humanitarian studies. Led by women and minority groups with lived experience in conflict-affected, post-conflict, and fragile states, we operate across the UK, Uganda, Afghanistan, India, and Nigeria.
Our work is rooted in generating robust evidence on gender inequalities, gender-based violence (GBV), sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and intergenerational poverty. We employ rigorous research and evaluation methodologies, applying feminist, socially inclusive, and intersectional frameworks to examine and address gender and social disparities globally.
With a strong specialisation in conflict analysis and peacebuilding, our team includes highly skilled researchers and practitioners from the Global South with extensive experience in working with communities affected by violent conflict, extremism, and fragility.

Our thematic focus
VIG uses gender-transformative and conflict sensitive approaches to help shape policies and frameworks to address the unique needs of women, children, youth and religious minorities.
Our workWe deeply acknowledge the intersectionality of discrimination and inequality faced by vulnerable populations. We have dedicated ourselves to the critical areas of de-radicalisation, countering violent extremism, and building resilient communities for sustainable peacebuilding.
We recognise the disproportionate impact on individuals and communities, influenced by factors such as gender, age, disability, geography, ethnicity, sexual identity etc. We are committed to an intersectional and gender-transformative approach in all our work, ensuring that resources are distributed equitably and that the voices and needs of marginalised individuals are heard and addressed.
Drawing on our extensive experience in both conflict and non-conflict zones, our team of experts has developed comprehensive programmes, toolkits, policies, and capacity-building initiatives focused on addressing gender-based violence.
Our work centers on engaging and supporting individuals and communities who face barriers to access due to stigma and discrimination associated with their social status and identities.
VIG offers comprehensive safeguarding technical services, embedding protection against exploitation, abuse, and harassment into every initiative. With a team of global safeguarding professionals, we provide tailored support across various thematic areas, including SEAH, child safeguarding, digital protection, and incident handling, ensuring organizations receive contextually relevant guidance to enhance their safeguarding efforts.
We generate evidence on maternal and child health issues, focus on girls and women’s rights access to comprehensive SRHR services such as child health, adolescent health etc. through active participation of communities in the research and evaluation processes that empowers individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about their bodies and relationships. Our work emphasises consent, respect, and safety, and are tailored to be culturally sensitive and relevant to all demographics, ensuring that everyone owns the process.
Our programme areas
Vashi Impact Group conducted a thorough and insightful research project for us on locally led development, engaging directly with the local partners of our members across Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia… We were impressed with their work and recommend Vashi Impact Group for multi-country development research.
